ANTIOXIDANTIEN

Açaí is known for its enormous amount of antioxidants. They are contained in the pigment of the berry (the anthocyanin). These secondary plant substances have an anti-inflammatory effect and help cleanse the body of harmful free radicals. The absorbance capacity of these substances is described as ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity). The ORAC value for Açaí is three times higher than that of blueberries.

The majority of the amino acids contained in the berry are exogenous and cannot be produced by the human body, making açaí a valuable addition to a balanced diet.
